994-TIPS Online Form
GW's Crime Tips Online Form (994-TIPS) is designed to give community members the opportunity to communicate directly with the Chief of University Police, Dolores Stafford.
This service provides an avenue for people to report information to UPD about crimes and/or security concerns in the GWU/Foggy Bottom area. 994-TIPS Online Form gives people who have information- but don't come forward because they don't want to go on the record- a way to report incidents with a promise of strict confidentiality.
While it is not madatory that the individual leave a first name or return phone number, Chief Stafford asks that they do so. In order to investigate the tips thoroughly, Chief Stafford may return messages to get more information or clarification. If Chief Stafford can't reach the person, she will leave a message and provide her personal phone number.
Only Chief Stafford retrieves the messages sent to UPD's Crime Tips Online Form. She personally investigates or has her staff investigate situations based on the information she received through the service. Chief Stafford also tracks what happens as a result of each message.
