Lost and Found
All GWorld Cards received by the Lost and Found are sent to the GWorld Card Office at the opening of business Monday through Friday.
To inquire about a lost GWorld Card, please contact the GWorld Card Office directly, at (202) 994-1795, located on the 5th floor of Marvin Center. To check to see if your card was received by UPD, please call (202) 994-6948 Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
To deactivate your card, either call GWorld directly or follow the prompts through the GWorld Card website.
Lost and found items, either turned in by a member of the community or found by an officer, are logged in on a daily basis during the week (Monday through Friday) and are stored at UPD for thirty days. After thirty days the items and their contents are donated to local charity. In order to claim a lost item, you must bring a photo identification card.
To pick up a lost item for someone other than yourself, the item's owner must submit to the department a signed letter, stating that they give their permission to the recipient to pick up their lost item. The letter should include the owner's social security number, telephone number, full name, as well as their signature. The letter must also include the full name of the recipient.
These requests can be mailed to the department or faxed to us at (202) 994-6115, "ATTN: Lost and Found."
Inquiries can be made into lost items on weekdays between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm. Eye glasses and keys, on the other hand, are available 24-hours a day.
