Migrate Colonial Mail Messages

To import your messages from Colonial Mail to the new GWMail account, you must first prepare your Colonial Mail Inbox. This method will only import messages in your inbox. Any messages in folders will need to be moved to your mail inbox. Section 1: Prepare your Colonial Mail Inbox Section 2: Import your Messages to GWMail from Colonial Mail Section 1: Prepare your Colonial Mail Inbox.Step 1: Log into Colonial Mail, http://cmail.gwu.edu. Step 2: Select the Folders view then click on the folder you wish to move messages from. Step 3: (1) Click on Select All. (2) This will put a check mark next to all the messages displayed on the page. (3) From the drop down menu labeled Move to Folder..., select Inbox. If you have a list of messages over several pages then repeat Step 3 until all content of the folder has been moved to the Inbox. Section 2 : Import your Messages to GWMail from Colonial MailStep 1: Log into your GWMail account. Step 2: Click on the “Settings” link in the top right corner. This will take you to the Settings window Step 4: In Settings, click on Accounts. Step 5: Under Accounts, click on Add another mail account Step 6: Enter your @gwu.edu email address and click Next Step > Step 7: In this next window, you will need to enter your password.
In the drop down menu, select pop.gwu.edu and then check the boxes shown above.
You can also check the “Label incoming messages…” box as well. This will tag
any messages imported using this method with the label of your choice. It is
not necessary for importing your old messages but may help you with organizing
