How To Update Symantec Antivirus using Live Update

Note: Make sure you have a working connection.  If you are on campus using GWireless you will need to be logged in.  If you are using CCA you do not need to be logged in to updated Symantec Antivirus.

Step 1: Click on the Symantec Antivirus shield.  The Symantec AV window will open.


Step 2: From the Symantec Antivirus window click on LiveUpdate....


Step 3: Click Next.  LiveUpdate will then search for and download any updates available from Symantec.


Step 4: Once the download process has completed, you will have a window like the one below.  If there are no updates to install your will get a window similar to the one below that says your software is up-to-date. 

Click on Finish.


Step 5:  If there are updates to install a small progress window will open.  This window will have a install progress bar.  The installation of updates can take a few minutes.  Sometimes the progress bar will pause at 99% for a few seconds up to a few minutes.   This window will close when the updates have been installed.
