When the Clean Access Agent is running, it should ask for your GW NetID (your GW email address without the '@gwmail.gwu.edu') and password. Use this to log onto the network.

If you try to open a webpage and it does not load, you are most likely not connected. Just open up the Clean Access Agent again and log on.

If you are quarantined it means that your computer does not meet the minimum requirements to log onto the network. The Clean Access Agent will provide you with information on what actions to take to meet these requirements. All software requirements and updates will have to be addressed before you can connect to the internet. Once you have fully updated your computer, try logging on again to regain access to the internet.

Run windows update to fully patch your computer, run live update on Symantec Anti-Virus to have the latest virus protection and install Spybot Search & Destroy. Once you are finished, try logging onto the network again to see if you have access. You will be required to log into the system periodically to ensure that your system continues to meet all requirements. If you unplug or turn off your computer, you may be asked to log on again when your computer comes back online.

If you are not logged on or are quarantined, you will still be able to access Windows Update, Symantec Live Update, and certain GW sites.

Will the Clean Access Agent monitor everything that I do online?

No. The Clean Access Agent will only make sure that; Symantec Antivirus is installed and updated, Spybot Search & Destroy is installed, the Windows Operating System is fully patched, and Automatic Updates is set to download and install updates. Any information regarding websites visited and software used (with the exception of Symantec Antivirus and Spybot Search & Destroy) will not be monitored by the Clean Access Agent.
