During your stay at The George Washington University many residents will be able to access a high speed wireless internet connection while living in select residence halls. There is no equipment to check-out and no forms to sign. Please read the following to ensure that you can properly connect to the network for the duration of your stay on campus.

For assistance with any step of the connection process, please contact the STS Hotline at (202) 994-7041. STS Hotline hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 7am – 10pm* EDT.

To establish your connection:

1. Connect to the summer2009 wireless network. You can do so by opening the wireless control panel on your computer and selecting it from the list of options. Do not connect to GWireless, as it is only for use by the University community.

2. Once associated with the network, simply open a web browser. You will be redirected to the Summer Wireless Login page, pictured here:

3. Before logging in, please take a minute to read through the ResNet Code of Conduct as well as the University Code of Conduct for Users of Computing Systems and Services. By logging into the system you will be signifying your agreement to adhere to both Codes of Conduct.

4. To log in you will need to use the Courtesy NetID you created on the Summer Housing page, it should start with ‘gw-‘.

If you do not have a courtesy Netid set up or do not know your password, please visit the STS Courtesy NetID page for instructions.

5. Once you are logged in, you should have a fully functional internet connection.

Please note that you may be prompted to log into the wireless system periodically, including any time your computer has been shut off or disconnected from the network.
