Over the course of the past years, the University has dedicated itself to focusing on key areas articulated in the University Strategic Plan. 

In SASS, this has meant an additional focus on several core areas, including:

• Achieving Operational Excellence in all business service units, through the upholding of the SASS Service Philosophy, as well as active participation and support of a Service Excellence Core Group.

• Benchmarking and improving the SASS organizational climate and culture, as seen in the SASS Survey - was one of the projects of the SASS Research Consortium in 2005-2006.

• Ensuring our Colleagues develop strategies and programs which attract, motivate, and retain a diverse, well qualified work force whose skills contribute to and sustain the University's mission through active participation and support of an Employee Core Group.  
  
  
• Developing Community through Core Operational Characteristics.

In 2006 SASS started the SASS Self-Study, a major organizational study and strategic transformation effort.
