She has been a member of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) since 1990 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2000. In 2003-04, she served as the first female in 45 years to be elected as President of IACLEA. From 1995 to 2000, she was a member of the IACLEA Government Relations Committee and was chair of that committee from 1998 to 2000. Chief Stafford has testified at several congressional hearings, one at the request of the U.S House of Representatives and another hearing at the request of the U.S Senate. Cheif Stafford was selected to represent IACLEA during the Negotiated Rule Making process sponsored by the Department of Education regarding the development final rules for the implementation of the Clery Act. She is a nationally recognized expert in the Clery Act. Cheif Stafford has written various articles about law enforcement and security. She recently won the Breaking the Glass Ceiling Award from the National Center for Women & Policing and a Professional Achievement Award from the European Association of Campus Security. Chief Stafford grew up in the Hershey, PA area. She is an avid sports fan and a die hard San Francisco 49er fan. She has an autograph collection featuring footballs and helmets signed by players like Joe Montana, Steve Young, Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens, and others. While growing up she earned nine varsity letters in high school in field hockey, basketball, and softball. While at Mansfield University, she competited competively in basketball. She also played two years of rugby at Bucknell University. Chief Stafford loves to spend her free time playing various sports and relaxing with her black lab, Samantha. She also volunteers her time to coordinate an annual golf tournament that raises approximately $30,000 for a program called Hearts & Hammers.
