    COMMUNITY BUILDING COMMUNITY

    Want to meet new people, get to know D.C., and make a difference?  Then CBC is for you! 

    PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
    Community Building Community (CBC) is a three day program for 200 incoming freshman to participate in service projects throughout the nation's capital. Students have the opportunity to establish new friendships before school starts, get to know GW and Washington, and engage in meaningful service!

    During CBC students are split up into groups of about 8-10 students, led by one upper-classmen Guide.  Get to know the 2008 CBC Guides Here!

    CBC 2008 IMPORTANT DATES & SAMPLE ITINERARY: 
    • Drop Deadline:  Friday, 8 August
      • Last day to withdraw from CBC and receive a full refund.
    • CBC Day 1:  Wednesday, 27 August
      • 9:00am-5:00pm, Participants move in to their Residence Halls  
      • About 6:00pm, Opening Night Dinner & Activities, Marvin Center Grand Ballroom
        • Please note:  Student will have to say good-bye to their family and friends who helped move them in before coming to the Opening Night Dinner.
      • Get to know the campus
    • CBC Day 2:   Thursday, 28 August
      • Service activities during the day
      • "Faces of Homelessness" panel of speakers
      • Team building and reflection activities
    • CBC Day 3:   Friday, 29 August
      • Service activities
      • Closing Dinner
      • 9:00pm, Wrap-up Celebration with participants and guides from Project Exploration and Experience DC, Hippodrome (Marvin Center, 5th floor)
    • CBC Reunion:   Saturday, 11 October
      • About 7:00pm, Marvin Center Grand Ballroom

    • Register online while signing up for CI (the online sign-up option is only available when signing up for CI)

    • During CI, go to CI Headquarters in the Marvin Center, room 433
