Canoe Cruisers Association

The Canoe Cruisers Association of Greater Washington, DC, founded in 1956, has over 1000 members from Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia and other nearby regions. We are a kayak and canoe club whose main purpose is to unite persons interested in paddling the Potomac River Basin and adjacent watersheds.

Memberships are not too expensive and put you in contact with many kayak and canoe opportunities!

River and Trail Outfitters 

The Shenandoah, whose American Indian translation is "daughter of the stars," provides an excellent venue for an historical whitewater rafting trip. Travel on two rivers through three states (Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia) on an unforgettable 2- to 4.5-hour guided tour. Rafters float by the historic town of Harpers Ferry while hearing stories from our guides about events that led to the Civil War.
