Exercise Science 101—Introduction to Outdoor and Environmental Education—3 Credits

This course is a conceptual and experiential introduction to outdoor education, environmental education, wilderness travel and outdoor leadership with particular emphasis on the Virginia and West Virginia context.

 

Exercise and Sport Activity 068—Low Ropes Course Facilitation—2 Credits

The Mt. Vernon Low Ropes Course is an outdoor obstacle course designed to help groups have fun while addressing challenges such as building unity, developing trust, problem solving, goal setting, and communication. 

 

Exercise and Sport Activity 045—Hiking—1 Credit

This course is an experiential introduction to hiking as an element of outdoor education, environmental education, and basic wilderness travel, incorporating elements of outdoor leadership in the DC Metro area parks and surrounding regions.
