Thank you all for coming to PE 2009!

Although the PE program is open to all students attending CI, the PE trips themselves can only accommodate a limited number of participants.  Numbers are limited due to the nature of the outdoor activities themselves, and to the constraints imposed by transportation on groups size.  To ensure a spot, we recommend signing up NOW.  A $425 flat fee covers all activities, lodging, transportation, and food for each trip (except for PE White Mountains as is explained below).  Different trips vary according to the amount and type of personal gear required.

Project Exploration (PE) is one of the most amazing and exciting programs offered by GW's Student Activities Center.  It is an ideal way to begin your college experience!  And in 2009, you have five different programs to choose from (see below for the trip descriptions).

This diverse selection of PE programming will allow you to enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, including rock climbing, whitewater rafting, surfing, backcountry hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking.  You will also have the opportunity to meet dozens of other incoming freshmen, as well as interact with some of the most amazing GW upper-classmen.  Thus, in addition to outdoor fun and education, PE offers an ideal opportunity to help you prepare for college life at GW.

Eligibility
PE is open to students attending any of the five Colonial Inauguration (CI) sessions.  Furthermore, PE can be combined with the Emerging Leaders Program without presenting any time conflict.

It is important to stress that PE is open to all incoming freshment, and that previous outdoor experience is not required to participate.  In fact, students with a wide range of outdoor experience participate in PE every year.  And we particularly encourage students who have never challenged themselves in such ways to do so now!

 2009 PE Trip Offerings

This year GW is offering five (5) different trip options for PE!  Each trip offers a wealth of fun, adventure, and education... so just pick the one that is the best fit for you!
