ONGOING EVENTS

DC Songwriter Circle
Second Sunday of every month at 7:30
$7/ $5 DCAC Members

The monthly DC Songwriter Circle takes musicians out from their usual safety net to perform solo - without microphones or amplification - before an audience in DCAC's black box theater. Each show tries to highlight a different group of performers - from the traditional folkie or the American Roots songwriter to the Neo-Soul artist, from the musician with a jazz background to the Alternative/Indie songwriter.

Check out DC Songwriter Circle on myspace and youtube.

The Electric Possible
Second Wednesday of every month at 7:30
$5/$3 DCAC Members

The Electric Possible concert series is DC’s mad monthly laboratory for promethean sound experiments. Over the past five and a half years, the series has been at the center of DC’s growing experimental music community, providing opportunities for musicians to explore unusual ideas and projects that incorporate new technology, new spirit, new energy, and new combinations of instruments and musicians to create expanded definitions of music. The series encourages musicians to collaborate with each other and with dancers, poets and other disciplines, forming new projects that may be difficult to place in other venues due to their experimental, unclassifiable, or temporary nature. From analog electronics ensembles to guitar/cello duos, to electro-acoustic free improvisation groups backing poets to trios merging harsh noise and free jazz, to showcases for homemade instruments, theremins or avant-guitar, Electric Possible offers opportunities for unfettered sonic exploration. More info about the series is available at www.electricpossible.org
