First in Country for Peace Corp
GWU was ranked FIRST in the country among medium-size colleges and universities for producing the most Peace Corps volunteers.

President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll 2006       
The George Washington University was recognized on the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with Distinction for General Service.

GWU in Highest Bracket of Universities that use Federal Work Study Funds for Service
GWU, through the Office of Community Service, allocates 24% of its Federal Work-Study funds for community Service. This is three times more than the 7% federal mandate. Work-Study students use thier awards while participating in  OCS Programs: DC Reads and Jumpstart.

GWU Ranked Fourth in Country
The Washington Monthly College Guide ranked GWU fourth in the country among all colleges and universities dedicated to civic engagement


Neighbors Project Awarded the Excellence Award for Outstanding Community Service
This years annual Make a Difference Day was an outstanding success being awarded the Excellence Award for Outstanding Community Service for bringing in volunteers from all across the metro area and on campus to participate in community service.

Neighbors Project Honored by the DC City Council
In honor of 10 years of outstanding service to the District of Columbia, the DC City Council passed a resolution honoring the Neighbors Project by passing the resolution for Neighbors Project Day.

Jumpstart GW Awarded Regional Award
The Jumpstart GW Program was recognized for contributing to the greatest gains in the Mid-Atlantic region in child development for 2003.
