GAP Survey
Greater linkage with Alumni for integrated programs
Send thank you and t-shirt for send off party
Career Center-More of a focus needs to be on the student. A Pass/Fail workshop course for all students was suggested. Write a letter to Dean Barrett about working the Columbian College into a program with the Career Center. Coordinate with Alumni for career connections, fundraising for additional faculty for help with this idea. Careers have been integrated into CI for the past 2 years
Advising is a big concern with the PAAC. The PAAC will write a letter to Dean Barrett explaining that the PAAC is willing to work in conjunction with the school to support better advising techniques.
Globalization-GW is a school that has students from all over the world, it is a characteristic of student body. Globalize recruiting and follow ups will help to continue GW’s growth globally. Use the alumni network across the world for help. ISS works with BU, BC and Georgetown to recruit from Europe, GW needs to get involved also.
Admissions marketing strategy-They claim that students at GW will have 5-6 semester long internships through their academic career. In reality, not every student even gets one, and some students will get multiple. Parents are not believing their marketing ploys. Another action needs to be taken
Study Abroad students are being left out of the loop. Better coordination needs to be had to keep these students involved in GW while they are away.
The Hatchet-An article was published regarding the Columbian College reevaluating required course. They have not changed their curriculum in 8 years. The PAAC wants representation on their task force
Dean’s List-GPA qualification for the Dean’s List needs to be reevaluated. 3/4 of campus is eligible. An identifiable standard is needed to be sent in place. The GPA level requirement is too low.
Elections
The floor was opened for nominations for President Elect. Christine Magee received a nomination. No other nominations were called. Christine was elected unanimously by a show of hands.
The floor was opened for nominations for Secretary. Randy Bolin was re-nominated for the position. No other nominations were called. Randy was elected unanimously by a show of hands.
