RODNEY L. JOHNSON
Director
Rodney Johnson began his career at GW 22 years ago as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach of the GW Colonials and since has become Director of the Office of Parent Services. Mr. Johnson is the founder and organizer of the Office of Parent Services and over the past 16 years has guided this office to become the University’s main office for communicating with University parents and caregivers. Under the guidance of Rodney Johnson, the Office of Parent Services has initiated the Parents’ Association, Parents’ Association Advisory Council, The Parents’ Listserv, and the OPS Web site. Furthermore, the Office of Parent Services has gained a large presence during Spring Visits, Colonial Inauguration and Colonials Weekend as well as other University events.
DEBBIE KIRKSEY
Assistant Director
Debbie Kirksey came to The George Washington University 20 years ago and has held various positions in Housing, Student Activities Center, Student Development Center at the Mount Vernon Campus, and as Assistant Director of the Office of Parent Services. Debbie Kirksey had one daughter graduate in 2002 and another which is a rising junior at GW. Debbie Kirksey is the glue which holds the Office of Parent Services together and is in charge of the office’s day to day operations.
LEAH SMALL
Executive Assistant
Leah Small began working for the Office of Parent Services in February 2005. She has also worked as the Senior Secretary to the Vice President for Student and Academic Support Services.
