The University sets minimum standards of behavior for students in a wide array of contexts. The "Code of Student Conduct," which is part of the 2008-2009 Guide to Students Rights and Responsibilities, is the primary document concerning student behavior, and it applies to all students, at all times.
Other policies also affect student behavior. The 2008-2009 Residential Community Conduct Guidelines apply to all students, particularly those living in and visiting University residential facilities. Student organizations must abide by both the "Code" and the regulations of the Student Activities Center. The Marvin Center, Gelman Library, and the Lerner Health and Wellness Center all have policies concerning student behavior in those particular facilities. Because the University is located in the District of Columbia, the Laws of the District apply to all students. Finally, the University takes issues with copyright infringement seriously and must comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DCMA) and the No Electronic Theft Act (NET ACT).
