ResNet is the University department that provides residential students access to the University's information technology services. These services are provided to students with the understanding they will abide by the ResNet Code of Conduct. Sanctions for violating this policy include denial of GW computing resources for a specified term or in perpetutity.

Students should note that the ResNet Code of Conduct prohibits infringement of copyrighted material. This prohibition includes using file sharing programs such as KaZaA, Morpheus, and similar programs to obtain or distribute copyrighted material like music or movie files without the permission of the copyright holder. Such conduct may also be a violation of the federal Digital Milennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA) and could expose a student who engages in copyright infringement to civil or criminal penalties.
