Dealing with the Legal Issues

Living off campus involves many new responsibilities. As a tenant, you are responsible for understanding the terms of agreements you make including your lease and security deposit. One step toward a good relationship between you and your management or property owner is a clear understanding of your rights and responsibilities. While most property owners and managers do an excellent job of caring for their rental property and dealing fairly with renters, knowing your rights will ensure you are being treated equitably.
