President's Welcome
Service-Learning is one of the hallmarks of a GW education. The Office of Community Service creates opportunities for our students to connect with our community and to integrate those experiences with classroom learning. Last year alone, the Office supported over 2,500 students performing over 55,000 hours of service. From volunteering in soup kitchens to tutoring in DC schools to cleaning up neglected city parks, GW students embrace the challenges of service with a passion for discovery that contributes to the well-being of our local residents and our community at large. We at GW are proud to support their continuing contributions to the greater Washington DC area.
