What is Colonial Night Cap?
The Colonial NightCap Committee promotes alcohol- and drug-free programming by offering co-sponsorship funding to registered student organizations in addition to hosting events throughout the academic year. In order to receive funding registered student organizations must apply and meet the following criteria: the program must be offered on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening between 8pm and 2am and end after 10pm, it must take place on GW's campus and be open to the entire GW Community, it must be free of cost, and it must be alcohol- and drug-free. Various departments across the University serve on this committee, including the Student Activities Center, Mount Vernon Campus Life, the Center for Alcohol and other Drug Education, Marvin Center and University Conferences, Student Judicial Services, Student Health Services, Multicultural Student Services Center, Campus Recreation, and GW Housing.
