Russell Crowe, Renee Zellweger, Craig Bierko, Paul Giamatti Rated PG-13; 144 minutes. Legendary athlete Jim Braddock was a once – promising boxer who had to leave the ring after a string of losses. As the nation entered the Great Depression, he took a series of jobs to feed his family until a chance cancellation gave him the opportunity to fight again. After his amazing and unlikely win, he was dubbed the “Cinderella Man” and went on to become the heavyweight boxing champ, elevating his own game but also representing the dreams of the disenfranchised masses.

Remember the Titans (2000) Denzel Washington, Will Patton, Donald Faison Rated PG; 108 minutes. High school football was everything to the people of Alexandria, Virginia in 1971. But when the school board is forced to integrate an all-black school with an all-white school, the very foundation of football's great tradition is put to the test. A black coach and a white coach band together to mold a group of angry, unfocused boys into a dynamic, winning team and help the team and the town to overcome prejudice and intolerance.

During World War II, when much of the male population was in the trenches, the first all-women’s baseball league was formed. Dottie Hinson and Kit Keller are sisters recruited to keep the sport alive. Their teammates range from a former dance hall hostess to a home run slugger to a jersey girl to a couple of farmer’s daughters.

What is Mount Vernon Campus Life?

 

Purpose Statement
(adopted February 2007)

 

    In support of the mission of The George Washington University, Mount Vernon Campus Life facilitates and promotes the integrated and distinctive qualities of the Mount Vernon Campus by providing student programming and leadership opportunities, a physical link with the Foggy Bottom Campus, unique facilities for events, and a primary means for dissemination of information across the campus.  We do this for the entire GW Community, with dedication to and pride in the Mount Vernon Campus and its legacy, through innovation, outstanding service, and collaboration.  The purpose of these efforts is to foster the community of the Mount Vernon Campus within The George Washington University.
