Kurt Russell, Patricia Clarkson, Noah Emmerich, Eddie Cahill Rated PG; 130 minutes; 2004 Walt Disney Pictures now brings to the screen the amazing story of the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team, which stunned the heavily favored Soviet squad in the semifinals to advance to the championship game, inspiring the famous questions: “Do you believe in miracles?” Kurt Russell stars as Herb Brooks, the team’s coach.

As the nation entered the Great Depression, he took a series of jobs to feed his family until a chance cancellation gave him the opportunity to fight again. After his amazing and unlikely win, he was dubbed the “Cinderella Man” and went on to become the heavyweight boxing champ, elevating his own game but also representing the dreams of the disenfranchised masses.

Remember the Titans (2000) Denzel Washington, Will Patton, Donald Faison Rated PG; 108 minutes. High school football was everything to the people of Alexandria, Virginia in 1971. But when the school board is forced to integrate an all-black school with an all-white school, the very foundation of football's great tradition is put to the test. A black coach and a white coach band together to mold a group of angry, unfocused boys into a dynamic, winning team and help the team and the town to overcome prejudice and intolerance.

Mount Vernon Campus Life welcomes your questions, comments, compliments, and concerns about The Vern Express service by completing and submitting the form below.  Any immediate concerns about The Vern Express during normal business hours of weekdays from 9am to 5:30pm should always be reported to Mount Vernon Campus Life at (202) 242-6673 or by visiting MVC Academic Building Room 115.  Outside of normal business hours (including University Holidays), immediate concerns should always be reported to University Police by calling (202) 242-6110 or by visiting the W Street Gatehouse at MVC.

Any items found on The Express  are turned over to University Police for tracking as lost property.  All lost property turned over to University Police will be temporarily stored at the W Street Gatehouse on the Mount Vernon Campus.  The lost property will then permanently be stored at Woodhull House, 2033 G Street NW, on the Foggy Bottom Campus.  To inquire about an item lost on The Vern Express, contact the University Police Department at (202)242-6110.
