The Licensing and Trademarks Program established July 1991 as the
Collegiate Licensing Program, promotes, regulates and protects the
commercial use of the University's federally trademarked names and
identifying marks both on and off campus. Prior permission must be
obtained from the Licensing and Trademarks Program before using any of
the University's registered marks on merchandise. This ensures
protection of the integrity and identity of The George Washington
University.
Any student, faculty, student organization or
administrative office that is interested in using The George Washington
University wordmarks and logos must first use a licensed vendor and get
the design approved by the Licensing and Trademarks Program. A
Merchandise Authorization form must be completed and submitted with the
name of the vendor selected and the artwork to the Licensing and
Trademarks Program. For your convenience, a list of licensed
manufacturers prepared for immediate business is available in Rice Hall
Suite 403 and on this Web site.
Any questions regarding the
Licensing and Trademarks Program should be directed to the Licensing
and Trademarks Coordinator in the Office of the Vice President for
Student and Academic Support Services at 202-994-1687, Rice Hall Suite
403.
