Welcome Center Check-In

 

    
Welcome Fall 2008 Students!

New students for Fall 2008 should come to the International Services Office to check in during our walk-in advising hours:

Monday through Friday from 1:30pm to 3:00pm

 
Welcome to The George Washington University!

One of the first things you will need to do upon arrival is to come to the Welcome Center at the International Services Office (ISO) to check-in with our office.  No appointment is needed, so please feel free to stop by during the walk-in hours listed above.

The Welcome Center is located within the ISO at 2033 K Street, NW, Suite 310. (Please note: our building entrance is on 21st street.)



During Welcome Center our office staff will provide you with information to help you prepare for your life as a GW student!  We will also review and photocopy your immigration documents to ensure that you are legally ready to begin your studies.

Please bring the following documents with you when you check in at the Welcome Center:

  • Your Valid Passport with valid visa.
  • Your I-94 stamped by the U.S. immigration inspector.

This is a small white card also referred to as an Arrival/Departure Record

  • F-1 Students: GWU I-20 or
  • J-1 Students/Scholars: GWU DS-2019.
  • Your current local address and telephone number where you are presently staying.
  • *Transfer Students please bring all previous I-20s and immigration documents as you may be asked for them during the check-in process.


*Please note: During Orientation, the ISO will be open for Welcome Center as follows:

Tuesday, August 26: 4:30 - 5:00 PM

Wendesday, August 27: 3:00 - 5:00 PM

Thursday, August 28: 1:30 - 5:00 PM

The ISO will not be open in the mornings of the above dates due to International Student Orientation.
