Hall on Virginia Avenue (HOVA) Graduate Housing
GW Housing Programs is pleased to offer the Hall on Virginia Avenue (HOVA) as an option for graduate students.  Located at 2601 Virginia Avenue NW, in DC's Foggy Bottom community, HOVA provides safe, affordable residence-hall living convenient to GW’s graduate schools and professional programs.

Who Is Eligible:

Full-time graduate students (enrolled in 9 credits per semester).


Amenities:

Furnished single occupancy rooms with private baths

Furnished rooms include at a twin-sized bed, a desk, and a dresser. Rooms also include a microwave and a dorm-sized mini refrigerator.

Typical Dimensions 16 feet x 12 feet (includingthe bathroom) [ Rooms are similar to a double occupancy hotel room as HOVA was once a hotel itself ]

Community kitchen facility on the 1st floor [ Please note individual rooms do not come equipped with kitchen facilities. There is a community kitchen on the ground level.]

Program Regulations:

As HOVA is an on-campus residence, graduate student residents are subject to the Residence Community Conduct Guidelines (RCCGs.) All University residence halls are designated non-smoking.  Additionally, certain household items are prohibited to ensure the well-being and safety of our residents.  For more information, please read the RCCGs and our list of Frequently Asked Questions .

Lease Terms:

The license agreement for HOVA covers the 2007-2008 academic school year only. Options to extend leases for the summer months are available to residents in the spring for those wishing to stay for additional time. Lease extension information is communicated to residents in the early spring.

Cost:

  • The rent for HOVA is $900/month ($4500/semester) for a single occupancy room.
  • The lease rates for participation in the HOVA graduate housing program are conveniently charged to your student account each semester.
