What is a Fitness Assessment?

A Fitness Assessment consists of a complete Medical and Health History Questionnaire and a 45-60 minute series of tests to measure the following:

• Resting Heart Rate/Blood Pressure
• Body Composition
• Cardiovascular Fitness and Endurance
• Muscular Strength and Endurance
• Flexibility

What is the purpose?

• Provides information about your baseline fitness level and allows for comparisons to standardized norms to individuals of the same age and gender
• Allows a personal trainer to develop an exercise program to fit your needs based on the fitness assessment results
• Motivates you to stick with the training program and allows for future re-testing to measure improvement
• The Health History screening is designed to identify any health/medical concerns which require physicians clearance prior starting a regular exercise program.

What is a Fitness Orientation?

Students, faculty, staff, and alumni LHWC members can sign-up for sessions individually or in groups to be introduced to the fitness equipment in the Lerner Health and Wellness Center. This service is provided for individuals at any exercise levels, but especially for those unfamiliar with the fitness equipment in the facility.

How much does it cost?

Just $10 for students, or $20 for faculty/staff/alumni members.
