The GW Ice Hockey Club is a competitive, selective team that competes against local and regional universities.  The team is part of the Colonial Division of the Blue Ridge Hockey Conference (BRHC) and a Division III member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association.  A typical season lasts from early October to late March and consists of 20 games.  Last season, the team won the BRHC and made it to the ACHA Southern Regionals. The team uses Fort DuPont Ice Arena, located inside the district, as its home arena and also uses the new Washington Capitals practice rink in the Ballston Commons area in Arlington, VA.  The program is co-ed and is run with the help and support of coaches, managers, and the university, including the Office of Campus Recreation and the Student Association.
