Massage Therapists
Allison is certified through the National Certification Board for therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She studied massage therapy at the National Massage Therapy Institute in Falls Church, VA. Allison is excited to begin a career in massage therapy at GW, where she earned her MS in Exercise Science in 2005, and worked as an Athletic Trainer from 2003-07. Her experience as a certified athletic trainer has allowed her to build an extensive background in injury prevention, management, and rehabilitation, along with general health and wellness promotion. She has worked with high school, college, and professional athletes to ensure and promote proper medical care for a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries.
Allison was born and raised in New Jersey where she lived with her parents and two younger sisters. She maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys running, group fitness classes, time with friends, and a variety of church activities.
Megan was born and raised in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. In her mid-twenties, she lived in North Dakota, traveled the country camping, and spent four years in Crested Butte, CO. She returned to Washington and worked for 5 years in the corporate world in various administrative roles. After leaving corporate life behind, she took some time off to pursue interests more meaningful to her. Megan completed part of a 200-hour yoga teacher training in Vinyasa Flow yoga and completed her training in Massage Therapy in January, 2009. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist in MD. Megan also holds a Bachelor's Degree is US Studies: Politics and Culture from Mount Vernon College at George Washington University. Megan approaches massage therapy as an integral part of our individual life's journey – believiong that working toward developing a sense of awareness of our physical bodies allows us to develop our own mind/body connection.
Outside of Massage Therapy, Megan is passionate about animals, yoga, spending time outdoors and traveling. She occasionally volunteers at Washington Animal Rescue League. She lives in Chevy Chase, MD with her wonderful husband, dog and two stepchildren.
