Ali B. graduated in 2008 from the Elliott School of International Affairs at GW with a double major in International Development and Geography. Ali has been practicing yoga since 1999 and began teaching Hatha and Power Yoga as a certified group instructor in California in 2004. Since then, she has been trained through YogaFit and has obtained her AFAA national certification. When she is not teaching or studying, Ali often engages in home improvement projects and oil painting. Alisia graduated from GW in 2009 with her Masters in Public Administration. She currently works as a Communications Director for a Congressman on Capitol Hill. She received her Pilates mat certification in December of 2008 and has been teaching since the spring of 2009. Outside of Pilates Alisia enjoys politics, photography and cycling through DC on her road bike. |

Amanda has been teaching TurboKick since 2007 and came to GW from University of Pennsylvania. There, as a graduate student, she taught the Penn community TurboKick, strength classes, as well as stretch and flexibility classes. Amanda has a strong background in dance, where she not only was a dancer for a number of years but also choreographed and taught dance routines. Amanda is currently a full-time employee at The George Washington University Medical Center. |

Anita has been a Group Fitness instructor since 2002 and has certifications through multiple organizations including AFAA, YogaFit, Spinning and more. Anita is gold-certified in TurboKick and has coached many new instructors as a Master Trainer. She teaches Hot Cardio Dance, Muscle Pump, and Abs. Anita loves searching for new and exciting formats to keep workouts fun and help her stay fit! Anita recently became a federal prosecutor, after graduating with her M.A. and J.D. from University of Pennsylvania. |

Caitlin is currently an undergraduate in the School of Media and Public Affairs, set to graduate with a degree in Political Communication in the Class of 2010. Caitlin teaches Muscle Pump and Cycle classes, and also enjoys teaching a community Aqua Aerobics class. When she is not teaching, Caitlin loves baking cupcakes with her roommate and training for her upcoming triathlons. Her favorite ways to stay fit are cycling, swimming, lifting, and kickboxing. |

Carolina H. is a graduate from the Elliot School of International Affairs at GW and recently obtained her Master’s Degree in Exercise Science at GW as well. She is certified in Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga and teaches both Vinyasa and Power Yoga. Carolina's favorite way to stay fit is yoga, of course, weight training, running, and biking. |

Catherine graduated in the Class of 2003 from Duke University. She currently works as Manager of International Tobacco Control at the American Cancer Society. Catherine has been teaching Zumba since 2007 and currently teaches at both GW and Vida Fitness. Catherine plans to obtain her AFAA national certification and Body Training Systems Group Step Certification in 2009. In her spare time, Catherine enjoys reading, exploring the city, baking, and spending time with friends. An avid traveler, she has been to 103 cities in 18 countries. She enjoys all kinds of exercise, especially dance, yoga, and tennis. |

Christine is a Graduate student in the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences for Women's Studies in the Class of 2010. She began instructing kickboxing and yoga classes as an undergraduate at Providence College, and holds various certifications from AFAA and AAAI-ISMA. She currently instructs yoga at GW and loves subbing for Step, Cardio Kickboxing, Zumba, and Sculpt. Christine believes everyone needs to find a workout that is challenging, but still exciting. She quotes “working out should be fun!” |

Cristina has been teaching Zumba since 2006, and also teaches cardio and basic belly dance. In addition to teaching and dancing, Cristina is an avid runner, cyclist, and an occasional triathlete. Cristina received her law degree from GW and is currently an attorney for the federal government. |

Devin graduated from GW in the class of 2002 with a major in Communications and a minor in Music, Theatre, and Dance from the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences She also earned her Master of Arts degree from NYU in Music and Performing Arts in 2005. While at GW, Devin was a scholarshop athlete on the NCAA D-1 women’s gymnastics team, where she helped lead the team to four A-10 Championships and was named the District of Columbia’s NCAA Woman of the Year. Devin was the first gymnast to be inducted into GW's Athletic Hall of Fame In February, 2008. Devin has been studying yoga and Pilates for the past 6 years and began teaching Pilates in the spring of 2009. Devin is currently the Director of Promotions for the GW Athletic Department. |

Erik graduated from Rowan University with a BS in Exercise Science and is currently a current M.S. candidate in GW's Strength and Conditioning program. He has taught strength, indoor cycling, and Extreme Training classes at GW. Along with his group exercise experience, Erik has been a personal trainer since 2006. As for a career path, Campus Recreation is in his sights. He is a self-proclaimed stereotypical guy when it comes to his exercise habits, primarily strength training a majority of the time. You might see this in his instruction style as well! |

Ginger has both a Bachelor's and Master’s degree from the Elliott School of International Affairs, and is changing her career focus by pursuing a M.S. in Exercise Science at GW. She teaches yoga and a variety of aerobics classes, mainly kickboxing. She stays healthy by exercising, eating healthy foods and relying on positive energy. |

Hayley
Jeanette became a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance in 2007 and continues to study yoga and meditation with various teachers, including Shiva Rea and Simon Park. In addition to being a Yoga Instructor, Jeanette is also an Attorney. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law, magna cum laude, in 2007. Jeanette teaches both Vinyasa and Power Yoga at GW. Her classes emphasize cultivation of the breath to move through dynamic flow sequences and to create energetic alignment within the body. Jeanette believes that, through yoga, we can connect to the power and grace within ourselves. |

Jessica is a student at GW with a major in Political Communications and a minor in Creative Writing planning to graduate in the Class of 2009. She is AFAA certified and teaches Muscle Pump, Kickboxing, and Abs. She is an avid hiker and kick boxer and she is motivated by her desire to be active and have fun. |

Kate M. teaches at George Washington University in the Theatre and Dance Department. She graduated from Princeton University magna cum laude with a degree in Architecture: History and Theory and completed her Masters of Fine Arts at the Tisch School of New York University in 1996. There she started taking Pilates from Kathy Grant, one of the few instructors certified by Joseph Pilates himself. She became certified through the IM=X and BASI Pilates programs and teaches mat as well as apparatus classes. Her articles about fitness and dance have been published in Pilates Style magazine, Dance Teacher magazine, Dance magazine, The New York Times, The Village Voice, Pointe magazine, Dance Research Journal, and The Washington Post. Katerina is an international student in the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in both, Communication and Jazz Studies. She has competed professionally in gymnastics and martial arts and enjoys teaching a variety of cardio formats. In 2006, she became PiYo certified. Katerina's favorite ways to keep fit are running, outdoor activities, healthy eating and dancing with friends. |

Lizzie graduated in the Class of 2006 from the School of Media and Public Affairs at GW. She has been teaching various group fitness classes since becoming AFAA certified in 2004. She completed her first marathon in October of 2008. Lizzie teaches Kick and Sculpt, Step, Boot Camp, and BOSU, and her favorite ways to stay fit are taking aerobics classes and running around the DC monuments. |

Mallory is graduating in the Class of 2009 from the School of Public Health and Health Services here at GW and is majoring in Exercise Science with a concentration in Health and Fitness. Mallory has been cycling since 2006 and obtained her Spinning certification in the summer of 2008. She has been teaching since the fall of 2008, and enjoys utilizing many different types of music from punk to Disney and oldies to techno. When she is not teaching she loves to run, read, and go to rock concerts! |

Melinda is graduating in the Class of 2009 majoring in Journalism and Mass Communications and loves teaching aerobics at GW! She is YogaFit certified, AFAA certified to teach all forms of hi/lo step and sculpt, and is also certified to teach TurboKick. If you can't make one of Melinda's classes just tune into Channel 6, GWTV, where she hosts her own workout show, MelindAerobics. Her favorite ways to stay in shape are running, step/double step, turbo kick, and absolutely any outdoor activity! |

Mia graduated from GW in the Class of 2007 with a B.A. in English. She currently works as a Federal Consultant in the DC area. She is an AFAA certified instructor who has been teaching Step, Muscle Pump, Cycle, and Abs since 2006. She is also certified in TurboKick and PiYo. Additionally, Mia teaches Step at the YMCA. Outside of aerobics, Mia stays in shape running, swimming, rock climbing, and training for races and triathlons. In her spare time, Mia volunteers with the Washington Literacy Council as a tutor; she also experiments in the kitchen, reads, and tries her hand at home improvement.

Rachel A. is a graduate student studying a M.S. in Exercise, Nutrition, and Eating Behavior at GW, Class of 2010. She completed her Bachelors degree at UCSB in 2004 studying Mathematics/Economics and Fitness Instruction. She has been a Personal Trainer since 2004 and has been teaching cycling since 2007. Rachel also teaches Boot Camp and Aqua Aerobics. She enjoys traveling, cooking, snowboarding, salsa dancing and has competed in two triathlons. |

Rachel H. will graduate from GW in 2010 from the School of Media and Public Affairs, majoring in Political Communications and History. She is a first year instructor for Hot Cardio Dance and Hard CORE; she has several years experience teaching and assisting dance classes. Rachel recently completed her AFAA national certification. Rachel has been dancing since 1992 and now works with the Washington Capitals as a "Red Rocker" in their game production and entertainment department. To keep fit, she enjoys running on the National Mall and the Waterfront and, of course, dancing. |

Rachel T. graduated from the University of Maryland in 2005 and is currently a graduate student at GW pursuing her Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology. She began teaching step, muscle pump, and abs at the University of Maryland and has been teaching at L.A. Fitness in Atlanta, GA for the past three years. In addition to teaching, Rachel enjoys running, hiking, and weight lifting.

She has been practicing Pilates since 2001 and is a certified mat instructor through the Integrated Teacher Training program. When Simone is not teaching, in class, or working, she enjoys writing, photography, cooking, and reading. |

Stephanie R. graduated in the Class of 2008 at GW with a degree in Journalism and Anthropology. She began teaching Step classes while studying abroad with Semester at Sea. She now teaches Step and Muscle Pump at GW. Stephanie likes to stay fit by taking group fitness classes, walking around the city, and cooking healthy meals. |

Stephanie S. will be graduating in the Class of 2010 from GW with a B.S. in Exercise Science and plans to pursue a Master's Degree in Sport's Dietetics. With a competitive sport's background, she has recently found a new passion in the group fitness way of life. Stephanie starting teaching Pilates in 2009 while concurrently training to become a certified yoga instructor. Along with group fitness, she enjoys any outdoor activities and is training for her first marathon in October of 2009. Outside of the exercise world, she enjoys cooking and can usually be found in Starbucks with a Vanilla Latte and a good book. |

Stephanie W. graduated in 2008 from the GW School of Media and Public Affairs. She is now working for the National Geographic Channel but still loves spending time at GW. Stephanie has been teaching Cycle classes at GW since 2006 but can also teach muscle pump and aerobics. When she is not teaching, Stephanie's favorite ways to stay fit are cycling, yoga, and playing sports outdoors. |

Suzanne was classically trained in ballet through childhood and early adolescence, and is no stranger to the joy that movement brings to the body. In October 2007, Suzanne became a certified 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher. Suzanne emphasizes the importance of relaxation, self-love, and caring for the self in daily life. She provides students with a warm, comforting environment and her classes incorporate pranayama, structural alignment and meditation. Originally from Toronto, Suzanne currently resides in Washington, DC where she teaches yoga and takes classes to further her education in Fine Arts and Psychology; she plans to pursue a Masters in Art Therapy at GW. In her spare time, Suzanne enjoys cooking, drawing and writing in her journal. |

Thayer is double majoring in Criminal Justice and English at GW. She loves teaching and started at GW teaching Step and Aqua Aerobics in 2009; however, Thayer has been teaching children’s dance classes since 2006. Thayer is a member of the GW First Ladies Dance Team and really enjoys competing and traveling. When she is not teaching or dancing, Thayer is most likely attempting to learn how to cook, or hanging out with her sorority.
