Winter Ski Trip 2009
It's not too early to start making plans for our 9th Annual Trip to the Great White North. This is the perfect way to cap off the winter break! January 2 - 9, 2009. We will be joined by students from American University, Rowan, UMBC & Delaware this year. We had 88 participants on the 2008 trip! Quebec City is a skier's paradise with guaranteed snow! As Don Corleone might have ficticiously said, "this is an offer too good to refuse". Take a look at what is included in the price:
Roundtrip bus transportation from GW
6 nights lodging in the Loews Le Concorde, located on "La Grande Allee". The hotel is centrally located with easy access to shopping, dining, museums and entertainment
Daily bus transfers to the ski resorts
Guided bus tour of Quebec City
5 days of skiing at Mont Sainte-Anne, Stoneham and Le Massif
Arrive in Quebec City at 10:00am on Saturday morning and use the entire day to explore Quebec City, watch the NFL playoffs, or just catch up on some sleep. Our hotel is located in the heart of Quebec City. With a McDonald's less than a 5 minute walk away from the front door of the Loews Le Concorde, it is easy to get something familiar to eat! Plus, there are easily 50 eateries all within easy walking distance. Bring your skates and cruise around the outdoor ice skating rink. If you have any energy after a day of skiing, the numerous Quebec City dance clubs rock 7 days a week.
Sunday will be spent skiing Mont Sainte-Anne. After a morning of sightseeing on Monday, we'll venture to the pristine "pistes" of Stoneham for a little night skiing. Tuesday, we'll tame the slopes at Le Massif, a hidden jewel of a ski resort located about an hour north of the city. Wednesday we head back to Stoneham to experience that resort during the daylight hours. Thursday we head back to Mont Sainte-Anne to cap a fantastic week of skiing. With a favorable American dollar exchange rate, you'll certainly get your money's worth of skiing!
The costs of the 2008 trip were:
$600 per person with 4 in a room
$660 per person with 3 in a room
$770 per person with 2 in a room
The city and culture of Quebec is truly amazing......and the skiing will blow you away! We will start accepting deposits on September 1 and final payments are due December 1. Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni & Friends are all welcome. This trip will be sold out again - so don't wait too long!
