Probation Clubs not abiding by the policies and procedures outlined in this guidebook will be placed on probation. a) First Offense - The club will be notified in writing concerning their first offense. The letter will state the reason for the probation, the length of the probation and the consequences of further infractions. Reasons for a first offense will include missing a sports club meeting, failing to keep in contact with the Office of Campus Recreation and other related actions. b) Second Offense - The club will be notified in writing stating that the case has been referred to the Student Activities Center. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken by the Campus Recreation Director. The club will then be notified in writing of the ruling. c) Third Offense - The club will be notified in writing stating the club's facility reservations have been canceled and that all club funding has been terminated. d) Fourth Offense - The club will be notified in writing stating that, through continuing non- compliance with The George Washington Sports Club Policy, the club has lost all rights as a club, including Campus Recreation sponsorship. NOTE: If a violation or infraction is deemed serious enough and warrants immediate attention by the Campus Recreation Director it will be understood that any of the steps can be by passed. If a club feels that the disciplinary action taken was too severe or unwarranted, the president of the club may request for an appeal. This must be in writing and received by the Campus Recreation Director within one (1) week following the ruling. The Appeal Board will consist of the following individuals: 1. Assistant Director of Campus Recreation; 2. Associate Director of Student Activities; 3. A member of the Student Association. |
