Facilities

The following policies and procedures have been developed to aid clubs in achieving maximum productivity while ensuring efficiency within the framework of the Campus Recreation philosophy.  Practice space is extremely limited in the Lerner Health & Wellness Center, the Charles E. Smith Center, the Lloyd Gym and the athletic fields on the MVC Campus.  Acquisition of the facility is best served by following the procedures listed below.  All request for facilities must be submitted to the Office of Campus Recreation in writing.  At that time, the Campus Recreation Director, in conjunction with the Lerner HWC and Smith Center Scheduling Coordinators, will assign time blocks for facilities based on the availability of such facilities.  It is the responsibility of the club officers to keep abreast of any changes which occur in the facility schedule of the Charles E. Smith Center due to intercollegiate athletic contests, etc.  Clubs not using their specific time block for a facility for any particular reason, including away competition, must contact the Campus Recreation Director at least 48 hours in advance.  Failure to notify the Campus Recreation Director that the club will not be using a facility at least 48 hours in advance could lead to the club losing any future allotted time in our facilities.  The Campus Recreation Director will be serve as a liaison between sports clubs and facilities whether inside or outside the GW community.  Clubs must submit facility requests for the upcoming fall semester by May 1st and for the upcoming spring semester by December 1st.
