IMPORTANT DETAILS FOR NEED BASED & MERIT RECIPIENTS 2009-2010
The
professional staff in the Office of Student Financial Assistance looks forward
to working with you and your family to assist with the financing of your
educational expenses during your academic career.
The
Financial Aid Source Book is designed to acquaint you with the various aid
programs administered by The George Washington University and to share with you
the answers to questions most frequently asked by students and their parents.
Hopefully, you will find this information helpful in understanding your
financial aid award. Above all, carefully read your award letter for special
instructions or personalized information printed on the letter itself.
We
know some families will find it easier to handle that obligation if they can
spread out their payments or borrow, so we have also included sections on
University Payment Plans and Financing Options for your convenience. Also, you
may want to visit the Colonial Central web site
(http://www.colonialcentral.gwu.edu) to learn more.
Please
be assured that every consideration has been given to you in our evaluation of
your application.
We
believe that your award coupled with your expected family contribution, a set
tuition that will not increase, and modest adjustments to housing and food
costs, will make it possible for you to plan accordingly and with confidence to
meet your financial obligations to the University.
Please
visit our web site (http://gwired.gwu.edu/finaid) to learn more about the
financial aid process, procedures on applying for loans, download forms, and
more information as it relates to financial assistance. The GW web site will be updated on current
issues related to the Office and provide information/links to award notification(s)
and other important subjects.
Should
you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Again,
welcome to GW!
