With a little time and a decent search engine (we used google), you will find lots of information on line regarding apartments for rent in Washington, D.C. Here is a list of a few we discovered, and which may help get you started in your search.

In terms of locating something in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood (where GW is located), use the Foggy Bottom Metro station as a fixed point from which to measure your commute (23rd and I Streets, Northwest).  Depending on cost and your living preferences, you should be able to find something local or within a short commute to campus.  We don't recommend students sign a lease for a rental unit sight unseen, so you should try to explore the housing market when you visit campus.

Beyond providing a listing of options that match your criteria (income, proximity to campus, etc.), most of these sites provide other useful information such as how to purchase real estate, information on D.C. resources, neighborhoods and sites, advice from housing and real estate professionals, message boards, ratings of various apartment complexes.
