Suicide Prevention Training
To help students, staff, and faculty members respond to distressed students the University Counseling Center offers a QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training. QPR will train you to:
- identify the warning signs of depressed or distressed students
- learn how to engage these students
- refer them to the appropriate campus resrouces
We offer two FREE training options:
1) In-person training: a 2 hour session, where a certified QPR instructor from CrisisLink trains participants face-to-face.
2) Online training: a 1-1.5 hour session, where the participant obtains an access code by emailing uccprog@gwu.edu with his or her name and status at GW (i.e., student, faculty, or staff).
