Consultation and Training
University Counseling Center staff is available to consult with faculty, administrative offices, or individuals concerning issues affecting student welfare and development, student crises, or any of our services. We would be happy to help you assess a difficult situation, learn about resources, make an intervention, or learn the best way to make a referral.
Center staff is also available to make presentations to your department or class on topics such as adjustment to college, assertive communication, cultural and racial diversity, stress management, facilitation skills, and academic effectiveness.
To help staff and faculty members respond to distressed students, the University Counseling Center provides informational resources on its website and suicide prevention training programs. For further assistance, please call our office at 202-994-5300.
