Campus Crisis Services

IF THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING OR OTHER EXTREME EMERGENCY, IMMEDIATELY CALL THE UNIVERSITY POLICE DEPARTMENT AT 994-6111 OR PROCEED TO THE CLOSEST HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM.

After Hours Mental Health Crises:

Mental Health Crises - Normal Business Hours:

This service is available during normal business hours Monday - Thursday from 9am to 6pm, and Fridays from 9am to 5pm.  Student, faculty, staff and parents may call the Counseling Center during normal business hours to consult with a counselor regarding student and campus emergency situations or an urgent need for services.

Hours: Monday through Friday:  8:30 am to 5 pm; Saturday: 9 am-12:45 pm

Residence Halls:  If you live in a GW residence hall, contact your Community Facilitator or Community Director regarding all in-hall emergency situations. 

University Counseling Center Staff are part of University crisis response teams in cases of assault, rape, terrorism, suicide, or death on campus. Campus Living and Learning Center (CLLC) staff and University Police Department (UPD) are also trained to respond immediately to these crises. Counseling Center staff work closely with the GW Psychiatry Department to arrange hospitalization for students when necessary.
