Career Development Services
The two session Career Decisions Workshop helps students to understand the process of choosing a career direction or major and making good career decisions. Prior to the first session, students complete the Strong Interest Inventory, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and questionnaires to assess their vocational situation and past vocational experiences. After these materials are completed students attend two workshop sessions, each about two hours long. The first session will help you define your work style and occupations consistent with your personality. The second will address your specific interests, possible career choices, and individualized action plans for further career development.
To register, please call 994-5300 and speak with our Educational Services Assistant. She will schedule a time for you to complete the testing materials (about one hour) and to attend the Career Decisions Workshop. The testing must be completed two weeks prior to the first Career Decisions Workshop session to guarantee that all materials are available and a space is reserved for you. The $40.00 fee (due at the time of testing) covers the costs of tests and materials.
Spring 2008 Workshop Dates:
Monday 3:00 - 4:30 pm 3/3 & 3/10
Tuesday 12:30 - 2:00 pm 3/4 & 3/11
Thursday 11:00 - 12:30 pm 4/16 & 4/23
Friday 3:00 - 4:30 pm 4/18 & 4/25
After taking the Career Decisions Workshop, some students may continue to experience uncertainty about their major or career choices. For these students, individual career counseling may be the best solution. Fees are the same as for individual counseling.
