Community Building Community

Community Building Community (CBC)

August 27-29, 2008

Community Building Community is a non-profit venture sponsored by the Student Activities Center’s Office of Community Service. Over the course of this community service program, students will make a positive and lasting impact in Washington, DC.

As a CBC participant, you will engage in service projects with your peers related to the environment, hunger, homelessness, and youth advocacy, among others. In the process, you will help build a stronger community.

CBC is open to new students attending any of the five CI sessions. As a participant, you’ll have many experiences:

A chance to make a difference by serving the Washington, DC area

A time to share, grow, and experience the value of community service

An opportunity to experience many of the city’s historic sites and neighborhoods

An opportunity to have fun and make lasting friendships with your new classmates

A non-refundable fee of $120 helps defray program costs such
as food, supplies, transportation, and training materials.  For more
