Meet the Colonial Cabinet

Welcome from Colonial Inauguration Headquarters (CIHQ)

Congratulations on your acceptance to The George Washington University!  Colonial Inauguration will be the first of many adventures you will have here at GW.  This is our third year being involved with Colonial Inauguration: first as incoming students like you, then as members of the 2007 Colonial Cabinet, and now as Colonial Inauguration Headquarters Staff, or CIHQ for short. It is our job to make sure that your first experience here is the best it can be.  In the pages that follow, you will be introduced to the 2008 Colonial Cabinet. Every year, hundreds of GW students apply to be a member of this special team, and we have picked the best ones to help you with your transition to GW. The Colonial Cabinet (orientation leaders) is made up of students with diverse backgrounds, majors, and perspectives on being a part of the GW community. Dressed in their signature white polos and smiling faces, it’s their job to make sure that the 2 1/2 days you spend here for CI are the most exciting, informative and interesting days of your summer.  The Cabinet goes through intensive training throughout the year to ensure that they are prepared for your arrival.  During CI, they will lead small group activities, eat dinner with you, and take you around the city in the evening to see the sights of DC. They will share their thoughts on living on campus, classes, and anything else that might be on your mind. Then, in the fall, they will set up reunions for you so that you can reunite with the other students that you met in the summer.  If you have any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to contact the CIHQ office at 202.994.GWCI (4924) or cihq@gwu.edu.

See you soon!
