Marvin Center

The Cloyd Heck Marvin Center, located at 800 21st Street, NW, is the hub of student life here at GW. All members of the GW community use the Marvin Center as their living room; a place to meet, dine, talk, study, work, and relax in an atmosphere where self-expression and creative interactions are promoted and everyone is welcomed.

The Marvin Center houses numerous event and meeting facilities including 13 conference rooms, 2 ballrooms, an amphitheater, and a theatre available for use. The building also houses the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation Conference Center, a full service conference center available for meetings and special events. The Marvin Center Scheduling and Event Services Office oversees the reservation of space in the building and provides support services for those reservations.

The lower level of the Marvin Center provides a wide variety of services available to the community. Within the building you can find a TicketMaster outlet, computer lab, the GW Bookstore, FedEx/Kinkos copy center, STA travel agency, Colonial Central, and WRGW Radio Station.

The Marvin Center's 5th floor is home to the Hippodrome, where there's always something happening and a few quiet places to relax as well. The Hippodrome has a completely automated bowling alley, pool tables, air hockey, ping pong, foosball tables, computers, TV monitors with DirectTV programming, and WoW Wingery. Students head to the Hippodrome often for dance parties, bowling, sporting events, and stress-free zones during exams, among other things.
