Class of 2009:
A Message from the Executive Director About the Job Search

Seniors:
Make a Successful Transition from GW to Your Life Out in the World!

In this, your final year, you are learning to synthesize your experiences over the past four years in academics, service, leadership, internship and experiential learning, and to articulate plans for post-GW success and lifelong career development.

Now is the time to TAKE ACTION.  The Career Center can help!

The Career Center can help you develop a self-marketing campaign and transition into your new life with resources such as on-campus recruiting, resume-writing and interviewing workshops, career fairs, specialized programs and events, and online assessment and networking resources. Career exploration involves self assessment of your values, interests and skills, and research of occupations, industries and professions to determine the best career match for you to meet your career goals.

Special Programs & Events

Employer Site Visits

Field trips have grown up: Sign up to visit local employers! Learn about these organizations—their structure, lateral and upper mobility, internships and full-time opportunities—by going onsite and speaking with staff, managers, and alumni personnel.  Earlier this semester, we visited the CIA (pictured left), and a sampling of potential future sites includes T. Rowe Price, ICF International, and Accenture. Contact the Career Center for more information.

Spring Career Fair
Career fairs represent one of the top four methods for students and employers to meet. Connect with recruiters, distribute your resume, and learn about the more than 70 participating organizations at this spring's career fair. Track which employers are attending by regularly checking the Quick Link on your GWork profile page.

Prepare for the fair and learn the basics of connecting with employers and preparing for positive, productive interactions by attending our pre-Fair workshops and programs: Resume Critique Day at the Career Center (Monday, March 2, 10am-12noon & 1-5pm) and Make the Most of the Career Fair (Tuesday, March 3, 530-630pm, Career Center 208):
