The Career Center is located in the Old Main building, at 1922 F Street, NW (corner of 20th and F) three blocks from the White House.  Many of our events take place in Old Main, but some take place in the Marvin Center (800 21st Street NW, between H and I), the Smith Center for Athletics (600 22nd Street, NW, between F and G streets), or in the School of Business - F. David Fowler Career Center in Duques Hall (2201 G Street, Suite 560, entrance on 22nd Street).

Take Metro to GW!

The Career Center is within walking distance of two metro stations,  Foggy Bottom-GWU (corner of 23rd and I streets, NW) and Farragut West (corner of 18th and I streets, NW).  NOTE: If you are going to the Marvin Center, the Smith Center or Duques Hall, exit at Foggy Bottom.

Directions by Air or Rail

We are convenient to Reagan National Airport and Union Station by metro or taxi.

From Reagan National Airport
Take Metrorail’s Blue Line towards Largo Town Center to the Foggy Bottom-GWU Station (corner of 23rd and I streets, NW) or the Farragut West Station (corner of 18th and I streets, NW). The Career Center is equidistant from both Metrorail stations. NOTE: If you are going to the Marvin Center, the Smith Center or Duques Hall, exit at Foggy Bottom.

From Union Station
Take the Red Line (heading towards Shady Grove) to the Metro Center Station, then transfer to the Blue Line (heading towards Franconia-Springfield) –OR– to the Orange Line (heading towards Vienna-Fairfax) and exit at either the Foggy Bottom-GWU or Farragut West stations--the Career Center is equidistant from both stations. NOTE: If you are going to the Marvin Center, the Smith Center or Duques Hall, exit at Foggy Bottom.

From Other Local Airports:

Directions By Car

(These are directions to the main University Visitor Parking Garage)

From North:
I-95 South to I-495 (Capital Beltway) toward Silver Spring/Northern Virginia. Take exit 33, heading south on Connecticut Avenue for about 9 miles. Turn right onto Florida Avenue (just past the Washington Hilton) and turn left immediately onto 21st Street. Turn right on I Street. The visitor entrance to the parking garage is on the left between 22nd and 23rd Streets.

From Northwest:
I-270 to I-495 (Capital Beltway) toward Silver Spring. Take exit 33, heading south on Connecticut Avenue for about 9 miles. Follow directions as given in “From North” section above.

From West:
I-66 and Route 50 both connect with the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge. Cross the bridge and exit left at E Street, then again at Virginia Avenue. Bear left, following signs for 23rd Street. Turn right on 23rd Street and continue a few blocks to campus. Turn right on I Street. The visitor entrance to the parking garage will be on your right between 22nd and 23rd Streets.

From South:
I-95 to I-395 – Arlington Memorial Bridge exit. Cross the bridge and bear left at the Lincoln Memorial. Turn left onto 23rd Street and continue a few blocks to campus. Turn right on I Street. The visitor entrance to the parking garage will be on your right between 22nd and 23rd Streets.

The parking lots at GW that have spaces available for visitors are the Marvin Center Garage,  the main University Parking Garage and Lots 5 & 7.  Click for more info about these GW Visitor Parking Garages .
