Who are the CADE Peer Educators?

The CADE Peer Educators are a diverse group of students who work together to educate our fellow GW Peers about the effects of alcohol and  drugs not only on our bodies, but on our futures and the relationships with those around us.

Through active and passive programming including socials, de-stressors and awareness campaigns, we provide the student body here at GW with healthy, safe and fun alternatives to drinking and experimentation with other substances.  We consider our approach to alcohol and drug education to be “realistic”, recognizing that this is college and experimentation and drinking can be very real components of the college atmosphere.

Our aim is to encourage our peers to make healthy choices, and equip them with the knowledge and courage to do so.  We also educate our peers about what to do should they find themselves or one of their friends in a precarious situation.

If you become a Peer Educator

Becoming a Peer Educator gives you the opportunity to become a leader and a role model on campus.  Peer Educators believe that we much model the healthy behavior that we promote to other students.  You will become a trained expert on campus regarding issues related to alcohol and other drugs.  You will also learn to facilitate training to other student organizations, residence halls, classes and the community at large.  If you became a Peer Educators, you will also specialize in:
