Financial Aid Profile
We encourage students to apply for financial assistance. We realize families are concerned about financing the cost of a private education and as a result GW offers a generous program of need based aid as illustrated by these facts:
- GW budgets over $118 million for undergraduate financial assistance which includes scholarships, activity awards, and need based assistance.
- Almost 60% of GW's undergraduates receive financial assistance.
- Approximately 58% of those granted financial assistance receive a guaranteed scholarship or grant.
- The most recent average financial aid award for entering students was $22,522 (a combination of grants, loans, and work study).
- Of those students awarded need based assistance, over 90% receive grant aid.
