Engineering & Law

This program meets the needs of highly qualified students interested in the BS degree in engineering and the JD degree – two professions based on critical thinking, dealing with logic and facts, and presenting convincing arguments. Bright students interested in pursuing a strong technical background in preparation for a competitive law degree are encouraged to apply.

Engineering and Law Program students look forward to successful careers in fields of law that have a strong technical content in patent law, intellectual property rights, telecommunications, biotechnology, and environmental law.

This program offers:

• Special seminars by legal experts in patent law & environmental law

• Mentorship program by students from the Law School

• Advising by Law School faculty

• Preparation for the LSAT Exam

• Internship and externship programs at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and patent law firms in Washington, DC.
