Student Life Experience
GW students maintain an active campus community through student government, athletics, a Greek community, student organizations, and many other activities. With over 400 student organizations, we have something for every interest. Student organizations include 28 fraternities and sororities, 45 political groups, 70 cultural clubs, 75 academic interest organizations, 27 religious groups, and 37 intramural and club sports.
The GW Student Activities Center as well as Mount Vernon Campus Life facilitates a range of activities sponsored by student run groups. Every day there are dozens of on-campus events for students which range from concerts and athletics events to speakers and debates. Comedy nights -- which have included such acts as Bill Maher, Margaret Cho, and Lewis Black, and well-known acts on campus, such as Black Eyed Peas, John Mayer, and Sheryl Crow -- are among the many opportunities offered to students throughout the year. In addition, students can relax in the Marvin Center Hippodrome which offers food, billiards, flat-screen televisions, bowling lanes, and a game room.
