International Resources
GW features an impressive variety of services geared specifically to international students. Whether you’re looking for immigration assistance, an introduction to Washington, DC, or an international student organization to join, you will find it at GW. Here is just a sample of GW’s many resources.
International Services Office (ISO) – The ISO staff provides guidance and support to ensure that an international student’s experience is an enjoyable introduction to the U.S. and to the GW campuses. A wide variety of services ranging from cross-cultural advising to social, cultural, and informational programs are available at ISO. In addition, the ISO Office provides advice on immigration matters, academic issues, and campus resources.
Student Organizations – GW has over 400 organizations in which students can participate. Over 90 of these organizations are cultural, ethnic, or international in focus, and include such international student groups as Klub Polonia, the International Friendship Club, the Middle East Group, and the Asian Student Alliance.
Multicultural Students Services Center (MSSC) - MSSC stands firmly in its role as GW's center for multicultural communication, community building, and leadership, and provides undergraduates with an array of ethnic and cultural opportunities. From cultural awareness month celebrations, such as Latino Heritage Month and Pan-Asian Heritage Month, to special organizational support, to cultural events such as Bangra Blowout or the Persian New Year celebration, the MSSC’s mission is to insure that all GW students draw maximum benefit from this high quality university experience.
Study Abroad - In support of the University's mission to "promote the process of lifelong learning from both global and integrative perspectives," the Office for Study Abroad offers international education opportunities to GW students through the University's overseas study centers, international exchange partners, and affiliated organizations. As an extension of the University's academic programs, the Office promotes academic excellence and provides access to high quality international education programs in expanding geographic destinations to serve a diverse student population representing a wide array of academic disciplines.
