Application Requirements for Admission Consideration:
Official certificates and records listing subjects studied, marks received, examinations taken, and degrees or diplomas earned, from all secondary schools, colleges and universities attended. Link here for a list of these credentials.
Official records of state examinations and certificates are also required. These documents must be certified as official bythe institution attended and/or the appropriate ministry.
If English is not your first language, you must take the TOEFL, regardless of citizenship. We recommend that you take the TOEFL prior to submitting your application and make sure that official test scores are sent directly to us. Institutional test scores are not accepted for admissions purposes. GW's school code for the TOEFL is 5246. Based on the results of your TOEFL or SAT examinations, you may be required to take English as a Foreign Language (EFL) upon arriving at GW.
Students residing outside the United States must submit a photocopy of the biographical and the expiration date pages of their passport.
Students currently in the U.S. must provide a copy of:
Current Visa
All pages of the I-20 from the current institution (if on an F-1 Visa)
Both sides of the I-94 card in the passport
If you plan to enter the U.S. on a Student (F-1) or Exchange Visitor (J-1) visa, you are required to submit a Financial Certificate for International Students and Bank Statement. The Financial Certificate form should be fully completed by you and signed by your sponsor. An original letter from your personal bank or your sponsor's bank on official bank letterhead, verifying your ability to provide the funds stated on your financial certificate, is required (The funds must be stated in U.S. Dollars). Please have the bank indicate your name on the letter.
SAT or ACT is required of all freshman and transfer applicants, including international students.
